Turn Your Lack of Motivation into Lasting Change

Do you remember the health and fitness plans you made at the beginning of January? Are they now just a fantasy, because life got in the way? Or because the days are still dark and cold, so all you want to do is chill on the sofa with a glass of wine after a hard day’s work? That feeling of turning over a new leaf and quietly promising yourself that this year will be different is something that we’ve all intended at some point. Maybe your good intentions even saw you joining Slimming World, signing up for Juniper or something similar. You might have even joined a local gym or dusted off the treadmill in the spare room that worked once before while thinking to yourself, “I know what I’m doing this time.” But now you’re disappointed in yourself, because the motivation that was supposed to finally flow freely is disappearing as fast as your waistline — and you were so certain that this time, it would be different!!!

In my 16 years of experience, this is what exactly what happens with so many weight loss journeys. So, why does this happen — especially to women like yourself, who struggle to find time for herself due to a schedule full of tending to others’ needs? Well, the reason is surprisingly simple — your plan was never really a plan at all……… it was always a fantasy from the outset, no matter how motivated you felt on New Year’s Day. And busy women are especially vulnerable to this — not because they lack willpower, but because they are already juggling so much. When time is limited and energy is stretched thin, then vague intentions will never survive contact with real life.

Making Change Stick

So, what actually turns intention into lasting transformation? Well, it may sound simple, but first you NEED to know WHAT it is that you actually want. I know this sounds obvious, but most women I have worked with this step entirely, because they say things like:

  • “I want to lose weight”
  • “I want to get fit”
  • “I want to feel better”

But these are overused slogans, not clarity. Instead, you must ask yourself what you actually want your life to FEEL like? So, for example, you could focus on wanting to feel:

  • More energy that lasts all day
  • Confidence in your body with clothing that feels good
  • Freedom from feeling guilty about certain foods
  • Strength to keep up with your children
  • A body that supports you instead of feeling like it’s fighting against you

You also need a clearer picture of WHY you want to feel this way, because motivation that relies on discipline alone will collapse when you’re under pressure, which is the daily reality for busy ladies like yourself. The gym membership didn’t fail because you’re lazy and the meal plan didn’t fail because you don’t care — they failed, because your WHY wasn’t strong enough to compete with your exhaustion and responsibilities. Your WHY needs to be strong like:

  • “I’m tired of disliking my body. I want to love my body.”
  • “I want to stop avoiding photos or mirrors.”
  • “I want to age with strength and grace, not fear.”
  • “I want energy to live and enjoy my life to the max, not just surviving.”
  • “I want to ENJOY the right exercise for me.”
  • “I want to ENJOY the right foods for me, without calorie counting or faddy yo-yo diets.”

Last, but not least, you need to realistically plan for HOW you’re going to achieve your intention, so that it doesn’t turn into a fantasy again. Because the plan that assumes you’ll always feel motivated, will find time next week or that life will calm down soon is simply wishful thinking. A real plan works *with* your life, not against it. So, your plan needs to account for:

  • Long days and inconsistent schedules
  • Emotional eating triggers
  • Hormonal fluctuations
  • Mental stress
  • Demanding families
  • Flexibility, not perfection

Because your best plans shouldn’t demand more effort from you. Instead, they should reduce any friction and resistance, as well as be simple, repeatable and forgiving. Remember, you’re only human.

In addition, with your WHAT, WHY and HOW in place, there’s one more (very crucial) step — WHERE are you going to get the *right support* to get this done quickly and easily? Support isn’t just motivation or inspiration. True support knows how your life works, helps you to understand why you’re struggling, doesn’t shame you for being where you are and has a framework that will give you the long-term results you desire. And the great part is, the support you need is probably already right in front of you — it’s yours truly, who has many years of experience helping busy women like you turn their intentions into reality. In fact, my B-Fit B-Fabulous program could be exactly what you need. And until the end of February, I am giving FOUR lucky ladies a whopping 20% off the program, which has successfully helped tons of women exactly like you stay motivated in transforming their bodies

So, if your January plan has slipped, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed, it just means you’ve now learned something important, which is where real change begins.

Love, Gaynor x
